Umlando wamaMbotho / History of the Mbotho Clan

Nzala yakwaMbotho, sicela uncedo bethuna, sizama ukudibanisa umlando wethu. Below is a short history of our people that still needs to be investigated and verified. I decided to post it because I wanted to get the ball rolling towards putting something together. It has been a couple of years now, we've been trying to get information so I implore you to please read through, speak to parents, grandparents and help us further research and verify our history so that we can produce a book that everyone can have access to. Please note that the information contained in this document still needs work but it is a starting point. It is up to each one of us to come to the table with something, whether it's a correction, translation or verification. Your contribution will be highly appreciated.

4. Mlontshwa with many wives (great wife maNzimakwe her son Siyephu, and an wife kaMajola her son Mancengeza as d result of dis famil splitted apart,many people ahamba eharding baya koflagstaff after kokubulawa kuka Mancengeza yashabalala nemvula kwambotho	4. Mlotshwa succeeded Chitho. He had many wives, his great wife maNzimakwe who bore him his heir, Siyephu. Another wife from the Majola clan gave him the son Mancengeza. When Mancengeza was killed a split happened in the family with a lot of people leaving Harding and going to Flagstaff. This also led to the loss of the ability to control rain that the Mbotho clan had.

Siyephu had troubles and his great wife maXolo could not bear him an heir. This resulted in their being a lot of claims for the throne as Siyephu had 9 other wives who had many sons. In the end Marhelani maGasa's son was placed on the throne despite the numerous claims
6. Marhelani (6 wives but uyena wahlulahlula ifamily waze wazeka kwaMbotho (Mdleko) wavelwa ukugula emamusha wafa izinyawo kwa ngena his Mageba	6. Marhelani had six wives. He divided the family, took a wife from Mbotho (Mdleko) and was suddenly killed by an illness. He was succeeded by Mageba

Mageba had two wives, maDlamini and MaMtshali/Mtyali. Mageba was arrested after the war between abeShawu namaMbotho.

After the arrest of Mageba and Mtshikilana, Mageba asked that Mabhadu kaSofayela kaMrhabula kaMabhida be put in his place but the chiefs changed this and decided that Magesini kaMarhelani be placed on the throne. This was followed by a terrible time in the palace where the King Mageba's children died. When the King came back from jail, he also died following his children. His only surviving child Mthetheleli, who was the son of maDlamini, a daughter of Mtyali was arrested. He was then succeeded by Chief Velela

Chief Velela Nicholus Mbotho became sick for many years. The Mbotho clan came together to figure out who would succeed him when it became apparent that he was dying. His wife and all his children also died. He is still alive
